Designed by Robert Harris, the Tayana 42 combines robust construction with traditional and seaworthy double ended styling. "Kailani" was set up in 2004 and 2005 to voyage around the world and has established herself as a serious and proper offshore yacht. Her owners have enjoyed years of cruising Mexico while raising their kids and have now decided it's time to return to shore life. They feel "Kailani" deserves more than the occasional Catalina trip and have made her available to provide you with years of blue water cruising pleasure.

Accommodations
“Kailani” has a seagoing aft cockpit that provides secure positions for when conditions are rough as well as spacious dining and entertaining for evenings at anchor. She has long seats with high back support, excellent cockpit drainage, and a high bridge deck. The full cockpit cushions, dodger and bimini with connecter and spray cushions provide comfort during a full range of weather conditions.
Inside the accommodations provide the beautiful teak joinery and quality workmanship you expect from Tayana. The U-shaped galley is located at the foot of the companionway and has spacious countertops, deep stainless sinks, refrigerator/freezer with both countertop and front openings and a Force Ten 3 burner propane stove/oven/broiler with cutting board cover and stainless safety bar for safe cooking underway. This location makes it safe and easy to pass food and beverage to the crew.
The entire area beneath the cockpit sole to starboard is dedicated to orderly systems installation and storage. The area is easily accessed through a hinged door that supports the companionway steps or through a panel in the aft cabin. The private aft cabin, located opposite the galley to port, features a spacious double berth with a HMC 5” Custom Latex Mattress, 4 drawer vanity table with a pull-out writing table and good storage and hanging space.
Just forward of the aft cabin is the aft-facing navigation station with instruments that repeat all the information provided at the helm plus all electric circuit breakers and battery monitoring information. The main salon is located forward and has a straight settee to port and to starboard an L shaped dinette includes a drop-leaf table with removable fiddlers, an integral spirits cabinet and drawer storage located on the centerline. The watermaker is located under the aft section of the L shaped dinette. Both sides of the main salon have great storage, shelves and book racks, plus there is a bulkhead mounted flat screen TV.
Forward of the main salon to starboard is the full marine head with marble vanity counter tops, stainless sink and a separate walk-in shower with a seat that doubles as a storage locker. Across from the head are more cabinets and hanging lockers. The guest cabin is forward of the marine head and has a large V-shaped berth for two people and is equipped with a lower seat insert. There are six built in cabinets and an overhead shelf above the berth to provide ample storage and a vanity counter with an outboard storage cabinet and hanging locker beneath. Good ventilation is had by an overhead hatch with reversible hinges. Forward of the berth is access to the anchor locker.
