1981 Choate 40

The Choate 40 is a flush deck, fiberglass construction, fin keel vessel desighed for coastal racing, and were quite successful at it when they were introduced. They have been considered to be " bullet - proof " with their strong , heavy construction.They have met their design purpose well. These boats are considered to be nice sailing boats, fast and quite adaptable to their conditions. The interior is quite spacious and offers both convenience and comfortability.

Entering the main cabin from the forward section of the cockpit and down the stairway, the engine space is located directly beneath the companionway and the forward portion of the cockpit.On both the port and starboard sides of the ladder , aft , are over / under , pipe berths with block and tackle so they can be adjusted in level position. Forward of these pipe berths, on both the port and starb. sides, are settees and pilot berths. Continuing forward, on the starb. side is the sink and ice box, and on the port side is the chart table and stove. Through the forward bulkhead, to starb. is the marine toilet. Forward of this area is the forepeak, which is set up for sail storage.The vessel will accomodate 8 for sleeping purposes.
