The Ericson 35s have a renowned reputation of being well built, great sailing, sea kindly mid size cruising boats. The Ericson 35 came standard as a sloop rig, hand-laid up hull with end-grain balsa sandwich construction. Her interior features four large, fixed windows, five fixed ports, and one opening port, hand-planked, solid mahogany strip planning finish off the sides. The end of an extra large, 7'6" quarter berth serves as a seat for the navigation station. She offers a U-shaped dinette. All bulkheads, cabinets, and trim are semi-gloss varnished mahogany.

The chain locker is forward followed by a large V-berth with storage above and below. Aft to port is the head with vanity/sink; to starboard are two hanging lockers. Next aft is the salon with a U-shaped dinette (converts to a berth) to port and a settee to starboard. Aft of the salon to port is the navigation station and quarter berth. Opposite the navigation station to starboard is the galley and electrical panel. Her interior features plenty of mahogany wood. The inside is very clean and her upholstery is in good condition. The headroom inside is 6'2".

In 2005 the cabin trunk was professionally rebuilt using marine grade plywood inpregnated with resin and laminated with fiberglass mat to "better than original" condition.
