1960 Angelman South Coaster

The rarest of finds, this beautifully maintained vessel was originally commissioned for Lana Turner, built in Breskens, Netherlands, and designed by Hugh Angelman in his retirement. "Sea Moon" is a well equipped, fast, elegant cruiser. Truly a sailor's dream.

The South Coaster is one of Hugh Angelman's last designs. A culmination of his 35 years of successful yacht design and sailing experience created a sleek performing yacht. "Sea Moon" is the only known professionally built South Coaster.

"Sea Moon" is an elegant vessel that is both seaworthy and fast. She has an ample cockpit that's great for socializing and easy to move around in under way. Her decks are wide and clear of obstructions with 6" bulwarks. Ventilation includes four opening hatches and nine large bronze ports. There is excellent Storage throughout! As you enter through the companionway, to starboard is the refrigeration and freezer compartments, just forward of refrigeration is the wet locker, her U-shape galley is to port, forward of the galley is a dinette which seats four, to starboard of the dinette is a large settee that converts to a double berth. Forward of the dinette you will find a private stateroom with a double pullman berth featuring a new custom tempurpedic mattress. Across to starboard is a large hanging locker. The forepeak includes the head and chain locker. Sea Moon's interior is beautifully appointed with gracefully designed cabinetry, new cushions and a stained glass butterfly hatch above the salon.

Built in Breskens, Netherlands. Beveled strip planked 1 1/8" x 1 1/4" African Mahogany on sawn Oak 3"x 2 1/2" on 17" centers, silicone bronze fastened. Stem, Horn and Sternpost are Oak/Clear Fir. Ballast is Lead monel fastened. Spars are Tapered laminated Spruce. Main spar is stepped on keel. Black Iron fuel tank replaced 1988/inspected and steamed cleaned 2002 found like new condition, Stainless Steel water tank also inspected and found sound and clean.

Condition: This vessel was found sound and in seaworthy condition throughout. No structural discrepancies were noted. No cracked or deteriorated members were found and No fasteners were found in need of replacement. Cosmetics and general maintenance are to high standards.
