"WestWind" #490 is one of the earliest entries in the Rhodes design index and the second of several vessels whose construction Mr. Rhodes personally supervised before he accepted the lead architect position at Cox & Stevens in 1924.
WestWind, now the oldest surviving Rhodes vessel, is mentioned several times in Henderson's biography of Rhodes. Especially interesting is a note written by Don Sherwood, the supplier of iron ballast keels to Rhodes. "I don't believe she ever got her decks wet, even in a gale of wind".
